I’m David Williams, a professional acoustic guitarist specialising in creating beautiful, relaxed live music for weddings and special occasions across the Midlands and throughout the UK.
I’ve been performing professionally for over 20 years and hold a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in Music. Over the years I’ve performed at a wide range of weddings, private events and corporate occasions, as well as for clients including Sony and on BBC and ITV broadcasts.
My style is centred around instrumental fingerstyle acoustic guitar, creating elegant arrangements of well-known songs from pop, rock, R&B, jazz and beyond. The aim is always to complement the atmosphere rather than overpower it, whether that’s creating anticipation as guests arrive, providing the soundtrack to an emotional ceremony, or adding a relaxed and sophisticated feel to the drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
Couples can choose live guitar for different parts of their day, including guest arrival, the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. I’m also very happy to learn special song requests, particularly for those important moments such as walking down the aisle, signing the register and leaving the ceremony as newlyweds.
One of my favourite parts of what I offer is that every couple who books me for their ceremony also receives a personalised studio recording of their ceremony entrance song after the wedding. It gives them something lasting from the day and a piece of music they can listen back to for years to come.
I use a high-quality, discreet battery-powered sound system, which means I can perform indoors or outdoors and move easily between different parts of a venue without needing access to mains power. I can also perform completely unplugged where appropriate, helping the music feel natural and intimate.
For me, wedding music is about much more than simply playing a set list. I want the music to feel personal to each couple and to become part of the memories of their day. I work closely with couples beforehand to make everything as straightforward and relaxed as possible, so when the wedding arrives they can simply enjoy it.
Whether it’s a favourite song as you walk down the aisle, music filling the background while guests enjoy a glass of fizz, or a relaxed soundtrack over dinner, my aim is to provide beautiful live music that feels completely at home within your day.
