2025 Wedding Venue Trends
Over the past few years, we have noticed a slight shift in trend preferences, amongst our couples - with thanks to COVID-19 may be? Who knows! But one thing we do know is; couples who host their dream day here at The Kedleston Country House are seeking a more personal experience, which is something we thrive upon as a venue.
Whilst weddings are notoriously known for their traditions, many traditions don’t come with the ‘one size that fits all’ label. And as we approach our 2025 wedding season, we are seeing many traditions staying firm in place, some adapted to suit, and some disappearing into the sunset.
Now, I am sure that you can appreciate that I write this blog post based on the needs, wishes and individual wedding day plans of our very own couples here at The Kedleston Country House, therefore other venues may not see the same trends as ourselves. But in sharing our trends for 2025, I do hope the below will help you create the day you wish for and deserve.

IN & OUT - This year, we are seeing a notable departure of the long traditional top table as many are seeing it as unsociable and unconventional. As a result, many are opting for a round top table or even a Sweetheart Table for just the newlyweds.
IN & OUT - Table wine is slowly but surely on the decline (“our friends don’t drink wine”) but the tradition of gifting a drink or two during the Wedding Breakfast stays firmly there. Our answer to this is; let’s serve your guests the drink(s) they enjoy by having our Bar Team serve guests their chosen tipple to the to the table. This sounds expensive right?! Fear not, allocating the same value of what you would pay for the table wine normally covers the cost.
IN - Here at The Kedleston, we do not host back-to-back weddings therefore, this offers our couples the opportunity to stay the night before in our boutique bedrooms. Waking feeling relaxed and refreshed for the big day ahead makes all the difference.
IN - It’s no secret that a wedding day travels at the speed of light. As a result, we are finding many are allocating alone time within their wedding day schedule. The two of you disappearing alone (even if its for only 10-15 minutes) offers the perfect moment for you to reconnect, digest the importance of the day and each other, and reflect on the enjoyment of the day being with all of your loved ones.
OUT - Good bye ‘Receiving Line’! This tradition has well and truly been put to bed as many viewed it time-consuming and a little bit awkward.
IN - Sustainability has become a significant factor with many couples opting for eco-friendly wedding suppliers that align with their values. Whether its locally grown flowers or reusable décor, incorporating these elements can not only enhance the beauty of the wedding, but also helps with the carbon footprint. Every little helps! OUT - Looonnnggg speeches! We’ve all been to that one wedding where the speeches lasted what felt like a lifetime. Our tummies rumbling, our bored minds drifting with hopes of staying awake for the unfamiliar jokes but as a tradition and a nation, we all seem to love a good speech.
Speeches and thanks can be a really emotional and important part of the day with personal stories and memories which range from embarrassing to the sentimental. Whilst we aren’t saying goodbye to speeches just yet, we are finding many couples reducing the allocated time to approximately 5 minutes per person.
